Freddie holds a degree in Commerce and participated in various post graduate programmes in management development and continuous improvement.
Freddie’s career spans more than 30 years, of which 20 years has been in a senior management capacity in supply chain and procurement including strategy and governance. Most recently, he has fulfilled the role of chief executive officer for the Vesco Group.
Vasco holds a qualification in Electrical Engineering, an MBA from the University of Witwatersrand as well as certifications in project management and IM specialisations.
Vasco has held various roles in the Information Management function at ArcelorMittal South Africa team and previously managed the IM portfolio for Gauteng Operations as well as MES Centre of Excellence.
Jake holds a B. Mechanical degree and a Master’s in Business Administration from North West University
Jake Olivier’s has over 22 years’ experience within the manufacturing industry, has held various executive positions and served on various management committees and boards as chairman and director, including various positions at ArcelorMittal South Africa in operations, procurement and logistics.

Sedick joined ArcelorMittal, Saldanha Works on 1 December 2007. He gained experience in numerous positions since 2007 in engineering, human resources and operations including the positions of Manager Human Resources and Plant Manager Rolling at Saldanha Works.

Joined ArcelorMittal South Africa in February 2015. Previously held various professional and management positions in Eskom.

Joined ArcelorMittal South Africa in August 1993. She has held a number of managerial positions before being appointed as Group Manager, Internal Assurance, in 2008. Completed her articles at KPMG.
Werner joined the company in 1987 as a Bursary holder and then Engineer in training at Vanderbijlpark Works. He has held various engineer and senior engineer positions within Vanderbijlpark Works. Since 2000 Werner held several managerial positions in the Hot Rolling area. On 1 January 2011 he was appointed as Works Manager Hot Rolling.
Jacques holds an engineering degree in Metallurgy as well as an MBA from Henley University.
Jacques has an extensive background with 20 years in the metals industry and has held various senior management roles with Columbus Stainless Steel in the technical, downstream as well as upstream areas of the business. He is currently upstream works manager at Newcastle and has been acting in the role of General Manager since June 2019.
Peet holds an engineering degree in Metallurgy and participated in various management development and continuous improvement programmes.
The various coke making units at Newcastle, Vanderbijlpark and Pretoria will be consolidated into a new operating unit and Peet Snyders has been appointed to manage the new coke making business at ArcelorMittal South Africa. Peet has held various roles during his career related to coke making operations including the management of the operations, refurbishment and construction of new coke plants internationally. He further has extensive experience in project management, business development as well as raw materials and supply chain optimisation.
B. Eng (Electrical), Government Certificate of Competency
Joined ArcelorMittal South Africa, formally known as Iscor in 1984 as an Engineering bursar. During his career he held several positions at Vereeniging Works, Tubular products and Vanderbijlpark Works including Maintenance Manager Vaal Meltshop, Plant Manager Vaal Rolling Mills, General Manager Tubular Products and Works Manager Hot Rolling. He was appointed as Group Manager Tubular Products on 1 September 2014.
Cobus Muller will assume responsibility for managing the Highveld Operations in preparation for the complete acquisition of that business. Cobus moves from his role as head of Gauteng operations including Vereeniging units as well as the Small Section Mill.
Industrial Psychology degree (masters) University of North West, Management Diploma (Wits), Registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa, (HPCSA), Qualified Electrical Artisan (Red Seal).
Dieter Sauer is an industrial Psychologist with more than 33 years working experience, including expertise in health, hygiene, wellness, safety, risk management, environmental management and HR. He spent the last 16 years in various general management positions at ArcelorMittal South Africa.
His previous positions include SHERQ Manager Vanderbijlpark works, HR Manager Vanderbijlpark Works and Gauteng HR Manager. Technical Supreintendent, Planner electrical and mechanical at Rolling Vanderbijlpark Works.
